Churchwood Design - Sustainable Craftsmanship

At Churchwood Design we prioritise sustainability by sourcing responsibly grown FSC-certified timbers and using reclaimed wood where appropriate, combining traditional craftsmanship with low-impact finishes and water-based lacquers to reduce VOC emissions.

Our kitchens and furniture are designed and built for longevity and are fully repairable should any accidental damage occur - this minimises waste and hopefully prevents things ending up in landfill. We actively reduce material waste in the workshop through careful project planning and off-cut reuse, while unavoidable byproducts of the manufacturing process are either sent for recycling or, in the case of wood shavings and sawdust, collected by a local farmer to use for animal bedding.

By choosing local suppliers and manufacturing at our Tideswell workshop we aim to reduce transport emissions and support the regional economy.
