His & Hers Wardrobes

The scale of this bedroom presented a bit of a design dilemma. The clients wanted a dressing room but didn’t want to divide the space up with walls, and really wanted the bed to sit lengthways in the room rather than across it… then our client had the inspired idea of creating a dressing area consisting of two ‘his and hers’ wardrobes, with one standing almost like an island in the room. The panelled back creates a ‘wall’ for the bed and bedside cabinets to sit against and creates two distinct zones - a dressing area and a sleeping area. The wardrobes are built from tulipwood with a hand-painted finish. We think it worked out rather well, and makes the most of this beautiful space.
