17th Century Cottage Walk-in Wardrobe
This one was a challenge! A picture postcode perfect tiny Grade II listed 17th century cottage in Bakewell was being fully refurbished, and we were asked to design cabinetry for a little room off the bedroom which was destined to become a walk in wardrobe. Not only was the room very small, but it was triangular in shape with sloping ceilings and beams to work around, and not a straight wall in sight. Our client wanted open fronted units with hanging space and shelves for baskets, as opening wardrobe doors would be awkward in such a compact space. Our fitter nearly reconsidered his career choices when he saw this room, but as ever he rose to the challenge and it all came together nicely, with only a small amount of swearing! We only have two photos of this one as there simply wasn’t room to take any from different angles, but hopefully they’ll give you an idea.
