A Total Pippy Oak Refurb in Berkshire
This client had a huge task on their hands! The 7 bedroom detached house, dating from around 1930, needed a complete back to brick renovation. This was great for us because not only were we starting with a blank canvas, but having worked for the client on several previous projects we had a very good idea of what they wanted and the ability to relocate all services to anywhere they needed to be meant there were no barriers to creating their optimum layout.
The large kitchen was crafted from pippy (or catspaw ) oak, using a chamfered Shaker door design. The wonderful honey coloured timber has been beautifully complemented by dark granite worktops and Lacanche range cooker with matching colour tone.
As you can see, this kitchen is not only supremely practical - with plenty of storage and integrated appliances, but also makes a wonderful family / socialising space with its long island. These photos were taken before the family had moved in and I’m sure it now has half a dozen bar stools around the island and plenty of wine in the chiller!
