The island is in the style of a freestanding dairy table or bakers table. It has two drawers on one side, and splayed legs united by a slatted potboard shelf at the bottom. The drawers are also made from solid oak and run on soft-close runners. The worktop is a granite called ‘Cosmic Black’ which features beautiful white veining and gold flecks. It has a bullnose edge profile and a ‘leather’ finish, so it has a slight texture that feels a bit like leather, and somehow stops things like fingerprints showing up on the surface (which is always a problem with standard polished black granite). There is a small overhang at each end of the worktop.
This is in our showroom in Tideswell, Derbyshire and you are very welcome to come and view.
The top is currently loose so can be taken off for transportation, but will ideally need securing to the unit once it is in place.
This has been in our showroom for ten years so has a few very minor marks - a couple of small scratches to the top and some minor scuffs to the wood, but otherwise is in as new condition.

The footprint of the actual base is 150cm long and 60cm wide.
Materials and finish: This freestanding island unit is made using reclaimed oak which we source from France - old structural beams are sawn into planks and undergo a lengthy sorting and drying process before we can convert them into furniture. The timber has a beautiful colour and features interesting splits and knots which all add to its rustic charm. The drawer boxes and unseen structural parts are made from new European oak. The whole unit has been lacquered for a low maintenance yet high perfomance finish.
Delivery: Free delivery within a 150 mile distance of our location (SK17 8PY) - please allow up to three weeks for delivery. The top and base are both very heavy. We will try and deliver this ourselves if possible to do so, but we may have to use a courier depending on the delivery address. If you live further than 150 miles from us please get in touch for a delivery quote as we will have to charge a small surcharge to cover additional time and mileage.
